For those with one or more dental implants, there is a risk of peri-implantitis – an infection that causes the loss of bone around a dental implant. If left untreated, it will continue to progress and destroy the bone. Ultimately, when bone no longer supports an implant, it will become loose and will need to be removed. There is also a risk of the infection spreading to natural teeth surrounding the implant.
After you have already been through the long and costly experience of replacing a tooth, or teeth, with implants, we want to ensure you maintain your implants as long as possible.
