All-on-4® treatment concept
Center of Excellence

One of the many periodontal procedures we regularly perform is crown lengthening surgery. This periodontal procedure involves reshaping excess gum and bone tissue to expose more of a tooth. It can be done for aesthetic purposes or to improve function. Patients do not experience pain during the procedure and very little discomfort during the recovery period. This crown lengthening surgery can improve the looks of a gummy smile. On our website, you can read more about crown lengthening surgery and see pictures of how we have enhanced other patients’ smiles and confidence! Below we will talk about a few of the other procedures we perform.

Sinus Grafting

Sinus grafting is performed to allow an implant to be stabilized. The location of the sinus is adjusted to stabilize the implant. On some occasions, this procedure is performed at the same time as the implant placement. Typically patients do not experience any pain during the actual procedure. Sometimes during the recovery, there is mild discomfort but some patients do not experience any.

Gum Grafting

This periodontal procedure is performed when the gum is receding resulting in root sensitivity, lack of gum tissue, or an unpleasant appearance of the gum. If left untreated, the gum recession can lead to the root surface being exposed. This will lead to cavities and tooth defects. Gum grafting is performed by taking a thin tissue from the roof of the mouth and attaching the tissue to the affected tooth area. No pain is to be expected from this procedure and the recovery period may have some slight discomfort.
