All-on-4® is a treatment concept that uses four or more strategically placed implants to support a fixed set of replacement teeth in one jaw. For appropriately selected patients, temporary fixed teeth may be attached on the day of surgery. Eligibility depends on clinical criteria and adequate implant stability.
At SJ Periodontics & Dental Implants, we offer All-on-4 treatment as part of our full-arch implant care. If you are struggling with extensive tooth loss or a loose denture, we can help you explore whether this approach fits your needs. We work hand in hand with your general dentist
The All-on-4® concept uses two front implants and two angled posterior implants to support an arch of teeth. The angled positioning can help make use of available bone. It does not mean every patient can avoid grafting or that four implants are suitable for every mouth.
You may also hear “All-on-X.” This broader term refers to full-arch treatment in which the number of implants varies. Your treatment should be selected from your examination and restoration requirements, rather than from a name alone.
Evaluation and design
Your appointment is the time to discuss your remaining teeth, medical history, expectations, and replacement options. Bring your current denture if you wear one, and explain any difficulties with fit, speech, or chewing. These concerns help guide the discussion of the proposed design.
Surgery and provisional teeth
When the planned implants achieve adequate stability and the other criteria are met, a fixed provisional restoration may be fitted at surgery. If immediate loading is not appropriate, your team will explain an alternative. Provisional teeth are temporary and do not indicate that healing is complete.
Final restoration
SJ Periodontics & Dental Implants All-on-4® pathway includes a digital design process and an opportunity to evaluate the proposed tooth design before the final zirconia restoration with your general dentist. Ask how appearance, bite, and speech will be assessed in your plan.
Expect specific instructions about eating, cleaning, and activity during healing. Being able to smile with temporary teeth does not mean you should immediately use them for unrestricted chewing. Keep your follow-up appointments and ask when your team expects you to move to the next stage.
A fixed full-arch restoration stays in place during daily cleaning. You need access around the implants and beneath the teeth, using the tools recommended for your restoration. Professional maintenance remains part of treatment.

No. A removable implant overdenture can be taken out by the wearer. A fixed restoration stays in the mouth and is removed by a dental professional when necessary.
Yes. Each arch needs its own assessment and treatment plan. Ask whether your estimate covers the upper arch, lower arch, or both.
The cost of All-on-4® treatment depends on your individual needs. At our practice, you’re investing in more than dental implants. We use trusted Nobel Biocare implants and premium PROCERA zirconia restorations backed by a 10-year warranty.
